A theme park and entertainment development brings together public circulation areas, guest-facing spaces and technical zones — each with its own door performance and appearance requirements. The project set out a combination of requirements that could not be met by standard catalog doors.
The doors had to match the actual openings shown on the project drawings rather than standard door sizes, including single-leaf, double-leaf and unequal double-leaf configurations.
Qi’an solution: Every door frame and leaf was manufactured to the dimensions confirmed on the approved drawings, with frame depths and leaf thicknesses produced to suit each individual opening.
Selected doors were required to deliver both fire resistance and acoustic insulation — a combination that constrains core material, sealing and gap tolerance at the same time.
Qi’an solution: Fire-rated and acoustic cores were specified per approved drawings, with assemblies manufactured to BS EN 1634-1 for fire resistance and BS EN ISO 10140-2 for acoustic performance, up to 120 minutes and 48 dB / 51 dB respectively.
The project’s doors had to integrate with hardware specified by the architectural hardware schedule rather than a standard hardware set.
Qi’an solution: Hardware preparation, reinforcement plates, lock preparation and hinge preparation were carried out during manufacturing according to the approved drawings, so the finished doors coordinate with the specified hardware systems.
Selected stainless steel doors required vision panels, with the glazing built into the door rather than added after installation.
Qi’an solution: Glass bead fabrication, glazing installation and surface treatment were sequenced within the production line, producing a fully assembled doorset ready for site installation.
Selected doors required a specific powder-coated finish, while other door types remained subject to confirmation against project requirements.
Qi’an solution: Surface treatment was applied after fabrication and welding, followed by assembly and hardware preparation — keeping the finish protected through the remaining production stages.
Finished stainless steel surfaces and door components had to arrive on site undamaged after long-distance transport.
Qi’an solution: Door frames and door leaves were packed separately using protective aluminum film, stretch film, corner protection and wooden pallets, with external shipping marks applied according to project requirements.
The project included several customized door configurations designed for different applications, from fire and acoustic separation through to general and technical areas.
| # | Door System | Construction | Performance Reference | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 01 | Fire-Rated Acoustic Steel Doors | 1.5 mm 304 stainless steel frame, 1.2 mm 304 stainless steel leaf, specialized acoustic or fire-rated core | BS EN 1634-1 — fire resistance up to 120 min BS EN ISO 10140-2 — 48 dB / 51 dB | Compartment separation, escape routes and areas requiring both fire and acoustic performance |
| 02 | Acoustic Steel Doors | 304 stainless steel frame and leaf with acoustic core according to approved specifications | BS EN ISO 10140-2 — 48 dB / 51 dB | Doors between spaces where acoustic separation is required |
| 03 | Customized Stainless Steel Doors | 1.5 mm 304 stainless steel frame, 1.2 mm 304 stainless steel leaf, aluminum honeycomb core, 45 mm or 70 mm leaf thickness | Project-specified construction and dimensions | General and service areas, including doors with vision panels |
Fire-rated and acoustic doors were additionally identified with acoustic and fire-rated door identification plaques as required by the project.
Several door types were manufactured according to BS EN 1634-1 with a fire-resistance requirement of up to 120 minutes.
Selected door types also required acoustic performance according to BS EN ISO 10140-2, including 48 dB and 51 dB acoustic performance, with identification plaques applied to the fire-rated and acoustic doors.
The doors were manufactured with 1.5 mm 304 stainless steel frames and 1.2 mm 304 stainless steel door leaves, with specialized acoustic or fire-rated cores according to the approved specifications.
Acoustic steel doors were manufactured with 304 stainless steel frames and leaves, with cores specified to meet the project’s acoustic targets.
Door assemblies were produced to BS EN ISO 10140-2 requirements, with acoustic performance of 48 dB and 51 dB across the door types specified.
Because acoustic performance depends on the complete assembly, frame, leaf, sealing and hardware preparation were manufactured as one coordinated doorset rather than as separate components.
The project also included ordinary stainless steel doors with customized structures.
Rather than using standard door sizes, the doors were manufactured according to the actual project drawings. Examples of customized door-frame dimensions included the sizes below.
The project included single-leaf, double-leaf and unequal double-leaf configurations, including both left-hand and right-hand opening arrangements. Frame depths of 150–180 mm and door leaf thicknesses of 45 mm or 70 mm were produced to suit the individual opening.
A key requirement of the project was coordination with specified architectural hardware. Depending on the door type, the supplied or customer-specified hardware included components from brands such as:
The door manufacturing process incorporated the required hardware preparation, reinforcement plates, lock preparation, hinge preparation and other interfaces according to the approved drawings.
This allowed the manufactured doors to coordinate with the project’s specified hardware systems rather than using a standard hardware configuration.

Selected stainless steel doors incorporated vision panels. For example, one customized double-leaf door included a 12 mm single tempered glass panel, with a visible glass opening of approximately 200 × 1200 mm.
The production process included:
Cutting→Bending→Frame Fabrication→Welding→Glass Bead Fabrication→Powder Coating→Door Assembly→Glazing Installation
This enabled the glazing system to be integrated into the door structure during manufacturing.
For selected ordinary stainless steel doors, the project specified a blue powder-coated finish:
Color: Blue – 15452#
The surface treatment was applied after the fabrication and welding processes, followed by assembly and hardware preparation.
For other door types, the final surface color was to be confirmed according to the project requirements.
Qi’an Door manufactured the doors according to customer-approved drawings and project specifications. The typical production process included:
For fire-rated and acoustic doors, the production specifications included the required fire-resistance and acoustic-performance requirements.
| Standard | Applied To | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| BS EN 1634-1 | Fire-rated acoustic steel doors and other fire-rated door types | Fire resistance testing of door and shutter assemblies, with a project fire-resistance requirement of up to 120 minutes |
| BS EN ISO 10140-2 | Fire-rated acoustic steel doors and acoustic steel doors | Laboratory measurement of airborne sound insulation, with 48 dB and 51 dB acoustic performance specified across the door types |
The project also applied standard export packaging, inspection and documentation procedures for international delivery.
For this project, door dimensions and manufacturing details were based on the customer’s approved drawings.
The production team coordinated multiple technical requirements, including:
This project reflects Qi’an Door’s ability to manufacture doors according to detailed architectural and technical requirements for large-scale entertainment and commercial developments.
To protect the doors during transportation, the door frames and door leaves were packaged separately. The standard packaging requirements included:
Protective aluminum film applied to finished door leaves and frames, with stretch film wrapping for transport.
Corner protection applied to door leaves, frames and exposed components to prevent impact damage during handling.
Wooden pallets and supports, with external shipping marks applied according to project requirements.
This packaging method helps protect finished surfaces and door components during handling and transportation.
