Acoustic Fire Rated Steel Doors

Acoustic Fire Rated Steel Doors combine certified fire protection with proven sound reduction. These door sets are designed and tested to meet project-specific fire minutes and acoustic targets, with durable steel or stainless-steel construction and clean, functional aesthetics.

Certified performance and standards

Assemblies are independently tested to BS 476 Part 22, BS EN 1634-1, UL 10C, and relevant Australian requirements. Smoke-leakage control options are available for corridors and pressurized zones. Test reports and summaries can be provided for design submittals and approvals.

Configurations

Choose single leaves, equal or unequal pairs, oversized units, and wicket door options. Profiles include square-edge or rebated designs matched to precision-formed frames and threshold solutions for new builds or retrofits. Large vision panels can be incorporated while maintaining the certified fire and acoustic performance of the assembly.

Fire ratings

Available ratings include 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. Select models carry UL ratings up to 180 minutes. Smoke-control can be specified where required.

Acoustic ratings

Typical laboratory performance is Rw 41–57 dB (approximately STC 45–55), depending on configuration, seals, and glazing. Documentation is available to validate the selected build-up.

Construction and materials

Door leaves use steel or stainless-steel skins over mineral cores engineered for fire integrity and sound damping. Frames are reinforced at hinge and lock zones. Intumescent components, perimeter seals, drop seals, and optional smoke seals are integrated to balance protection and smooth operation. Thermal breaks and acoustic packers can be included to suit project needs.

Options

  • Door leaf and frame: galvanized steel or stainless steel (grades selected for hygiene or corrosion resistance); square or rebated edges; optional astragal for pairs; welded or knock-down frames.

  • Glazing: fire-rated and laminated acoustic vision panels in standard or large formats, supplied with tested glazing systems.

  • Hardware: certified hinges, closers, latches, panic devices, drop seals, and thresholds. Components are supplied as coordinated sets to preserve the assembly’s rating and acoustic class.

  • Finishes: durable powder-coated finishes for steel; satin or mirror stainless steel. Woodgrain coatings and matched trims are available to align with interior schemes.

Applications

  • Healthcare and laboratories for privacy, hygiene, and smoke containment

  • Education, lecture halls, and auditoriums for speech clarity

  • Commercial and mixed-use buildings for occupant comfort

  • Industrial sites and utilities to contain equipment noise

  • Studios, theaters, and performance venues for isolation

  • Data centers for mechanical noise control

How to specify

  • Define required fire-resistance period (e.g., 30/60/90/120 minutes; UL up to 180 on select models).

  • Set the acoustic target (e.g., Rw/STC) and confirm glazing needs.

  • Choose configuration (single, pair, oversized) and edge profile.

  • Select material (steel or stainless) and finish.

  • Confirm smoke-control, thresholds, seals, and compatible hardware.

  • Request test reports, installation guidance, and maintenance instructions.

Engineering support and documentation

Customization includes stainless or steel models, double-leaf sets, oversized units, and doors with glass vision panels. Engineering support covers shop drawings, hardware schedules, access-control readiness, and coordination with wall systems. Submittals include specification sheets and certified test summaries to align with regional codes.

Quality assurance

With a focus on fire safety and acoustic control, production follows documented QA processes, full-process testing, and traceable materials management. Reports supporting approvals can be provided for projects in the US, UK, EU, and Australia.

Installation and logistics

Pre-hung options, prepared frames, and clear fixing details help reduce site risk and speed installation. Coordinated packaging and global logistics support delivery to schedule.
